When it comes to buying a new refrigerator, there are many to choose from – side-by-side, french doors, top freezer, bottom freezer, and compact, just to name a few. For the purpose of this article we are concentrating on side by side refrigerators.

A side by side refrigerator has two full-length doors which open out and away from one another. Typically the section on the right is used for cold storage and the section on the left is used as the freezer.
